Summary

On the 5th of June 2016, a fourth of the Swiss population voted in favor of a citizen federal initiative proposing to introduce the principle of the Universal Basic Income into the Swiss Constitution. After this significant milestone and based on the resulting fresh understanding of the UBI principles by the population and the political actors, actions have been taken to launch some pilot experiments in the country.

BIEN-Switzerland has actively supported the UBI initiative as well as other initiatives of the same type which may ease the introduction of the UBI at any level. Besides this activity, our organization proposes introductory lectures on the UBI and issues surrounding it, the setting up of experimental pilot projects, workshops on the themes of possible methods of practical implementation, benefits/limits/drawbacks of experiments and the formulation of a likely new federal initiative.

"What would you do if your income were taken care of?" The Unconditional Basic Income raises what might now well be called the world's biggest question. It's been in fact written on a 110x72 meters poster, installed on Plaine de Plainpalais on 14th may in Geneva by the Swiss network for UBI. That day the poster officially won a Guinness Book award of the world's biggest poster. The event got live covered for half an hour on a big screen on New York's Time Square!

"What would you do if your income were taken care of?" – Che cosa faresti tu, se il tuo reddito ti fosse garantito?È questa la più grande domanda del mondo che pone il reddito di base incondizionato, iscritta su di un manifesto di 110 x 72 metri. Il manifestoè stato installato sulla piazza di Plainpalais il 14 maggio a Ginevra dal gruppo svizzero per un RBI. Questa realizzazione ha segnatoil record ufficiale del Guinness Book per il manifesto più grande del mondo e l’evento è persino stato riproposto durante mezzora su schermo giagante sulla piazza di Time Square a New York!

"What would you do if your income were taken care of?" – Was würdest du arbeiten, wenn für dein Einkommen gesorgt wäre?. Es ist die grösste Frage der Welt, die das Bedingungslose Grundeinkommen stellt! Sie wurde auf einem 110 Meter auf 72 Meter grossen Plakat aufgeschrieben; das Plakat wurde am 14. Mai auf Plainpalais vom Schweizer Netzwerk des BGE in Genf installiert. An jenem Tag gewann das Plakat den Guiness Weltrekord für das grösste Plakat der Welt. Das Ereignis wurde während einer halben Stunde auf Grossleinwand auf dem Time square in New York übertragen!

"What would you do if your income were taken care of?" – Quel travail ferais-tu si ton revenu était assuré ?. C'est la plus grande question du monde que pose le revenu de base inconditionnel ! Elle a été inscrite sur une affiche de 110x72 mètres installée sur la Plaine de Plainpalais le 14 mai à Genève par le réseau suisse pour le RBI. L'affiche a remporté ce jour-là le record officiel du Guinness Book de la plus grande affiche du monde. L'événement a été retransmis une demi heure durant sur grand écran à la place Time square de New York !

Der Fotograf und Blogger Demir Sönmez hat unsere AktivistInnen beim Unterschriftensammeln auf dem Flohmarkt in Genf überrascht.

Dies war für ihn Anlass für eine ausführliche Berichterstattung (auf französisch) über die Sammelaktion sowie über das Grundeinkommen, die er mit zahlreichen Fotos von diesem Anlass ausschmückte.
