The beginning of autumn will be marked by the beginning of the final countdown for the collection of signatures for the federal initiative for an unconditional basic income n° 2 and by the sudden death of Bernard Kundig, our late committee member, friend and valuable contributor to the UBI. He will not have been able to see this change of society for which he worked so hard materialize, but the commitment of everyone to make the current collection of signatures succeed will be a decisive step towards this positive change of society that he considered not only just, but also indispensable and inescapable, considering the evolution of the working world.

The ordinary General Assembly of BIEN.CH on June 19th took place in a very friendly atmosphere! The role that the UBI could play during a health crisis was widely discussed, as well as the UBI pilot project in Geneva and the new federal initiative at the stage of collecting signatures. Its success depends on everyone's commitment!

A new UBI initiative was launched in Bern on 21 September 2021. Its contents are essentially taken from the previous initiative, supplementing them with provisions to ensure the preservation of social insurance and financing that protects the middle classes. BIEN Switzerland supports the new initiative. Anyone wishing to participate in the campaign will find useful information at the foot of the page.
